Women Going Their Own Way

Women are going their own way! You might be wondering what “women going their own way” means. I know I did. After hours of online research, I have scratched the surface of its meaning and purpose. Women Going Their Own Way, or WGTOW, is a movement where women have decided to live their lives without men. There are several levels to WGTOW. Some women want nothing to do with men whatsoever while other women will, and I quote “hit it and quit it.” On another level, a woman will have a romantic relationship with a man, but nothing longer than a few months. What all the levels of WGTOW have in common is that none of these women will ever cohabitate with or marry a man.

The cause of this movement is that women are waking up to the reality that marrying men is a bad deal all around. It is a well-known fact that family law overwhelmingly favors men in divorces and child custody proceedings. Three out of four divorces are initiated by men and full child custody is awarded to women only ten percent of the time. Members of the WGTOW movement see marriage as a bad bet. After getting married, a man can decide at any time that he no longer wants to be married and file for a divorce, where he gets to receive alimony payments and half of the assets the woman brought into the marriage. Let’s not forget that second richest man on the planet, Jeff Bezos, amassed his wealth by divorcing his wife, MacKenzie Scott, founder and CEO of Amazon. Another woman taken for a ride was pop singer Adele who had to pay her husband millions in the divorce settlement.

Women Going Their Own Way spread their message via the internet on what is known as the “femosphere.” The femosphere is comprised of women who share their whorror stories about past relationships with men. There are also video content creators who help spread the word by reading other women’s stories and commentating throughout. Some the most prominent video commentators are Successful Strong Woman, Brighter Bachelorette and Rachelle Kouper. The femosphere has its own lingo as well. Some of the expressions and definitions are as follows:

oneitis-the notion that a woman has one man in the world that she’s destined for

riding the carousel-a man who spends too much time riding the carousel at carnivals

monkey branching-when a man climbs a tree in the same fashion as a monkey would

a chad-a cool dude named Chad

a tyrone-an even cooler dude named Tyrone (also, it’s about time)

red pilled-women need men like a fish needs a bicycle

blue pilled-women who want to get married and have a house with a white picket fence

tommy lorn-a news personality who values value and will probably die alone or with cats

orbiter-a woman who wants to be an astronaut and circle the Earth in space like Sputnik

pump & dump-a toilet that uses pump action technology to flush your dump

6 sixes-the best roll one can hope to get in the game of Yahtzee

simp-a foolhardy simpleton

alpha-that one kid from that movie The Little Rascals

beta-the second letter of the Greek alphabet

The only people losing out on women going their own way is men. Now that millions of women aren't going to ever get married, there are now millions of men that will never get the wedding they've dreamed about since they were little boys.
